Projector Lamps and Its Benefits
Projector lamps are the main components in any projector. These are responsible for showcasing the image, information or any video on a large screen for a large audience. Most of the projector bulbs are made of halogen which produces the light necessary for the input of the projectors. But halogen projector bulbs have characteristic that they produce a streak of yellow light and so the original color of the image or text is disrupted. So nowadays, the lamps are made of metal halide for projection. This is much better since they produce white light and remove the presence of yellow shade in the information being projected. This also improves the clarity of the information.
Since projector lamps are used in a variety of fields, the projector bulbs they use and their working will differ slightly according to their need. But almost all projectors have some things in common. Almost all lamps use mercury for producing light and are called UHP lamps (Ultra High Pressure). These projector bulbs are very similar to those present in the streets. There are also few projector bulbs which use xenon in the place of mercury. These are very efficient and produce results of high quality and clarity. However these are very expensive but at the same time effective.
As every electronic device has its own pros and cons, projector lamps also have their own. Projector lamps are highly beneficial since they are available at any instant of time and at affordable price. Depending on the need and utilization various classifications of lamps are available. Compared to any other projector, LCD projector lamps have the largest life span from 1000 to 4000 hours. They seem to be the most cost efficient projectors ever. The quality of these lamps is extremely good since they there are not much flaws in imagery. Moreover these lamps do not require much attention and care when compared to all lamps used in practice.
Projector lamps have also some disadvantages and are more intricate than it seems first. Some projectors do not come with housing and or a cage. These projector bulbs are the most dangerous. When the housing or cage in these projector bulbs are absent then the high pressure tube is susceptible to damage. The tube contains mercury vapor at high pressure. When this highly pressurized mercury vapor seeps out of the Projector Bulb, they are inhaled and so cause permanent damage to the lungs. This makes our lives at risk too.
